WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL!!!

The Grove is a Community Primary School catering for children between the ages of five and eleven. We have 211 children on roll accommodated in 7 classrooms. The children are grouped in mixed ability classes of a single age group throughout the school.

We have a computer suite with 20 computers and interactive whiteboards in every class. We have a sports field and also have our own wildlife and environmental area, which adjoins the playing field. The school has a security system which has been upgraded and we now have perimeter fencing and CCTV cameras on site.

AIMS

We endeavour to make our school a happy, caring and secure place, where every child will be eager to take a full and positive part. We aim to foster the talents of each child through the curriculum and all their experiences the school offers.

We encourage each child to do their best in all they do and to rise to the challenge of new experiences.

We are very conscious of our responsibility in helping every child develop as a caring and considerate member of the community. This is a responsibility which we share with you, as well as the children themselves. We believe strongly in the value of working in partnership with parents for the benefit of the children.

The staff's approach to the children is based on mutual respect. We aim to foster selfdiscipline and selfreliance, with essential regard to the wellbeing of others .

At The Grove, we value all children as equal members of our school community and we hope that during their time with us they will really enjoy their primary education and leave with happy memories!

CURRICULUM

We aim to provide a stimulating environment where children will want to come and learn and find their natural interest and curiosity catered for.

At The Grove we strive to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which

b) promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural and physical development of the children and prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life.

This comprises a core of English, Maths, Science and Information Technology and the foundation subjects, which are, History, Geography, Design Technology, Music, Art, PSHE ( Personal, Social and Health Education) and Physical Education.

We follow the locally agreed syllabus for our Religious Education.

CLUBS

Staff run after school clubs on either Tuesday ,Wednesday or Thursday for an hour. We offer a range of activities that include: pottery, art, sports, craft, sewing, football, computers and cookery.
