The expansion of The Blandford School in 2005 from a 13-18 Upper School to an 11-18 Secondary School has provided so many extra opportunities for our students. With more students has come more specialist staff and resources, more space and more flexibility.

Our Specialist Technology College status attracts funding for stateof- the-art technology across subjects throughout the school. We are proud of our position at the heart of the community and will always strive to retain our friendly atmosphere.

The learning experience we offer is not confined to the classroom but extends to numerous extra curricular activities. These include work experience, vocational opportunities, dance, activities week, drama, music, maths clubs, sports teams, study trips abroad, School Council and involvement in the local community.

Within the classroom we stand for:

  • individual achievement
  • learning which is exciting and fun
  • behaviour which allows all to learn
  • motivation and challenge for all

As they move up the school students start to make choices about the direction they wish to follow. We actively help our students make the right decision and provide as broad based a set of options as possible. This process is supported by professional careers guidance and support.

At the sixth form level in years 12 and 13 we offer:

  • A/S and A level courses leading to academic qualifications and university entrance including Oxbridge.
  • Foundation and Level 2 courses leading to vocational qualification and entry to FE Colleges, apprenticeships, the workplace, or progression to advanced levels.
