Glenmoor School is a Specialist School in Mathematics and Computing. We are an ambitious school determined to provide high quality education for young people in our community. We are also focussed on providing an educational centre of excellence for the whole community as evidenced by the opening of our new Dance Studio and Open Learning Centre.

Our aim is to ensure that each individual student has the opportunity to reach the highest educational standards of which she is capable, in an open learning environment that is caring, well ordered and supportive. We also encourage everyone to achieve in a range of areas including music, sport, art, active citizenship, dance and drama. We will provide your daughter with an environment within which she can ENJOY LEARNING AND CELEBRATE SUCCESS.

Girls benefit from the extra resources devoted to mathematics and computing. Specialist status will help to counter the traditional gender stereotyping in studying mathematics and computing to a higher level. A wide range of resources in computing allows our students to develop skills in a wide range of applications. We help the girls to acquire higher self esteem and greater self confidence. They feel positive about working in the specialist subjects.

Our teachers are well qualified and skilled in using whiteboard technology and utilising interactive tools to get the pupils involved in lessons. Involving the pupils in lessons encourages the pupils to work hard. The girls are now also encouraged more and more to present their work using the skills they have learned using a wide range of ICT resources.
