Lytchett Minster School is a unique school and offers its students a very special experience of secondary education. It stands on an exceptionally beautiful site in the Dorset countryside. In addition to the Manor House that lies at its heart, the building programme now under way will ensure that it is served by an increasingly elegant and well-equipped set of buildings.
Over the years it has developed an excellent academic reputation with examination results being consistently high at all levels. Previous students have also gone on to achieve a disproportionately high number of higher degree class results. This tradition is balanced by a wide range of extracurricular opportunities available to students. Sport, music and drama feature prominently in the life of the school and each year there are many visits and trips both locally and abroad.
Meeting the needs of every child is our highest priority. On entry, students are placed in one of five Houses, each of which is led by a Head of House and Assistant Head of House. This forms the basis of the pastoral support we give and ensures that students are known and treated as individuals.
It also helps us to work in close partnership with parents to ensure that children are happy and successful at the school. Our aim is to provide an environment that is safe yet stimulating in which students can flourish.
