ABOUT US

We are a very caring school. We seek to retain and develop the values of family friendship and promote a sympathetic, tolerant and considerate approach to relationships throughout our community. With space for only 105 pupils, our children all know each other well and as they grow they are gradually encouraged to take on responsibility for each other and for the school.

On entering our school, your child will be entering a world where learning is at the heart of everything. We treat everybody as an individual and try to create a wide variety of opportunities so that every aptitude is valued and has the means of expression. We have a talented and creative staff who all work together as a team to ensure that the children in our care receive the best and broadest education possible, achieving high standards whatever their particular strengths and weaknesses.

We promote traditional Christian values and discipline, with Religious Education and worship central to the life of the school. We are fortunate in the strong support we receive from parents, the church and the wider community and this enables us to provide an exceptionally wide range of extra-curricular opportunities for your children.

AIMS

  • Create a happy, safe environment where all children feel valued and where their achievements are celebrated.
  • Help each child acquire, through a carefully planned and challenging curriculum, the skills necessary to develop full potential in all areas of learning. We believe high standards of Literacy and Numeracy are very important.
  • Encourage each child to be a respectful and caring citizen.
  • Encourage all children to be confident, positive and independent in their attitude to learning and life.

CLASSES

There are four classes: two Key Stage 1, in the new wing, and two in Key Stage 2, in the main building.

Class 1 – Reception children;
Class 2 – Years 1 and 2;
Class 3 – Years 3 and 4;
Class 4 – Years 5 and 6.

CURRICULUM

The governors and staff aim to provide the expertise, resources and environment for each child to develop and reach their full potential academically, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, creatively and physically.

Children come to school with a variety of experiences and at different stages of development. The school aims to help them develop in a happy, challenging and caring atmosphere, so that they acquire the desire to continue learning and become good and caring members of any community of which they are part.

All pupils follow the syllabus of the National Curriculum, including the Literacy and Numeracy strategies, which are available to parents on request.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

We offer a range of clubs depending on the season, staff and parental help. Details are sent out at the start of each term. If you have an interest that you would like to offer as a club activity, please let the office know!
