| ABOUT US
Our Holy Redeemer is a Roman Catholic school. It has been established in Clydebank for over 100 years. We have been in our present semi open plan building since 1980.
There is a current school roll of 281, although there is the capacity to cater for 439 children.
The school caters for both boys and girls from primary 1 to primary 7. At present there are 12 classes. The school has 2 open areas housing computer suites and additional work areas. The infant department has an area used for structured play. A room is set aside for music and drama and there is a combined gym and dining hall.
Sections of the school are very suitable for disabled access. The school is available for let outwith normal school hours. At present the local Brownie pack has a let of the school. Enquiries about lets should be made to education headquarters (tel. 01389 737329).
If you require any school documents in another language or in Braille, please contact the school office.

| The Head teacher prioritised Health Promoting School programmes in the school and cluster development plan. It was believed it would be beneficial to hold a summer gardening project, which would improve school grounds and encourage activity in the outdoors. A gardening planning group was established with the Head teacher, the Health Development Officer, the Environmental Education Officer (Greenspace) and the Active Schools Coordinator. Funding was provided from the school budget and Greenspace Growing Grants scheme. Plants, flowers and herbs were given from The Choices Market Garden, Greenspace and personal donations. |
| At OHR we are very aware that the health of our pupils, their families and the community they live in must be a high priority. As a health promoting school we consider all aspects of health. Physical, emotional and mental health are important but the environment children live in and experience is also important.
Within school children are encouraged to eat fruit, drink milk and enjoy the healthy lunches provided in the dining hall as part of the Hungry for Success campaign. Hand washing is encouraged with all children washing their hands before lunch. In order to maintain healthy teeth, tooth brushing will be piloted in primary 1 & 2 from April onwards.
Relationships education is fully discussed with parents prior to the programme starting. The school curriculum meets all the requirements of the 5-14 guidelines and in line with these, parents of primary 7 pupils have the right to withdraw their child from the programme if they wish to.
In May 2006 Our Holy Redeemer primary school achieved Health Promoting School status at level 3.

| Caring for the environment is close to the heart of the OHR community and is covered as part of the curriculum through environmental studies and personal and social development. Recycling is encouraged throughout the school with recycling bins in classrooms and communal areas. At present OHR has the bronze eco award from Eco Schools Scotland and is hoping to achieve a silver award during the next school session.
