St Kessog's Primary is an R.C. denominational school situated close to Loch Lomond and serving the areas of Haldane, Jamestown and Balloch in West Dunbartonshire.

We have lots of exciting events for our school community to participate in this term. Details can be found on our newsletter.

Our factfile contains information on our school and we hope you enjoy browsing our site.

Very good support is given to the school from the school board and PTA and there is a very good relationship between school and parish. Other links with the community include a pensioners' club, bowling club, dog training club, a local charity fundraising group and Tullichewan Trust's Hop, Skip and Jump initiative.

The school is responsible for much of its own budget, which is spent in consultation with staff and the school board.

We are part of Our Lady and St Patrick's cluster and work with the cluster to promote healthy living, accelerated learning initiatives and Focus days. Details of these days will be posted soon.

Active learning is learning which engages and challenges children's thinking, using real-life and imaginary situations. It takes full advantage of opportunities for learning presented by;

  • Spontaneous play
  • Planned purposeful play
  • Investigating and exploring
  • Events and life experiences
  • Focused learning and teaching.
Active learning in St Kessogs is an important aspect in all stages. As well as making the most of learning from our outside environment we have also dedicated one of our rooms to enhance children's learning. Our aim is to be:
  • Successful Learners
  • Confident Individuals
  • Responsible Citizens and
  • Effective Contributors.
