An open plan school situated in the Whitehill area in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire.

Our school benefits from being situated in North Hamilton & Blantyre Social Inclusion Partnership Area (S.I.P.). We share a Home/School Partnership worker with the local R.C. school - St. Paul's Primary in Whitehill.

We have approximately 140 pupils, age 4.1/2 -11 years and have 7 classes P. I - 7 and a Nurture Group which we call Rowan Cottage catering for 8 - 10 children who may find it difficult to settle in their classes in P. 1, 2 & 3. At the moment we have 8.5 teachers, including the Head Teacher, a full time Early Intervention Teacher for P. I and 2 and a full time teacher (S.E.N.) and Nursery Nurse for Rowan Cottage.

Ancillary staff include 2 clerical staff, who can do anything, a classroom assistant, 2 S.E.N. auxiliaries, a Janitor and 3 kitchen assistants. Our meals are cooked on the premises and we have recently had a swipe card system introduced for all our children to pay for meals or breakfast, which is also supplied. 20 - 30 children on average have breakfast each morning before school begins.

All our staff work exceptionally hard to make sure our children feel safe and secure in our school. The children respond by giving us their best-most days! We are also given lots of support in class and the playground by a group of dedicated parents who give their time voluntarily to assist us in making the school a better place.

Clubs are run after school for P6 and P7 by staff - through our Supported Study Club.

Badminton - we're looking for some opposition! Computer Club; Football - taken by our Community Police and Netball - but not this session as time space and money was difficult to organise.
