EDUCATION

Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9)

All National Curriculum subjects are studied at Balderstone. We take great care to maximise the potential of our students and we work to support their individual learning needs. Our students are taught in groups setted according to their ability.

Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11)

Our senior students follow a dynamic and diverse curriculum built on high expectations and a commitment to meet the individual needs of all. To achieve this, students, parents and teachers are fully involved in the choice of appropriate courses which lead to nationally recognised qualifications.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME

Balderstone’s programme of enrichment extends well beyond the classroom. We offer a range of opportunities, skills and experiences for our students through the provision of:

  • additional resources
  • partnership with Further Education colleges who provide a series of “master class” events
  • an Artist-in-Residence
  • booster Classes in Key Stage 3
  • revision and examination preparation through Focus Sessions
  • out-of-school visits and residential experiences
