ABOUT US

Brindle St James' is a Church Primary School aided by the LEA, currently catering for 72 children from the age of 4 to 11.

The school comprises of three classrooms - information about the organisation of these classes can be found elsewhere in this booklet. There are good play areas, including an adjoining sports field. The school has its own pond, which was created to enhance the teaching of science. There is also a football field for use by the school at the nearby community centre.

Brindle St James’ Church of England Primary School is committed to ensuring that all pupils and other members of the school community develop their full academic, social and spiritual potential, and so achieve excellence within the context of our Christian family.

Our children are the heart of this Church of England Primary School.

Each child who attends Brindle St James' will cover a broad, balanced sequential curriculum encompassing all areas specified in the National Curriculum. Whilst fulfilling its statutory obligations, Brindle St James’ seeks to promote other important skills as those acquired through lessons in R.E., Personal, Social and Health Education and Citizenship.

Throughout the school year the timetable seeks to ensure that all subjects are given sufficient time in order that these requirements are met.

Extra-curricular activities are arranged in order to enable all pupils to extend their range of skills and interests. Many of the activities take the children into the local community. There is an opportunity for the children throughout the school to participate in one or more of the out of school clubs.
