| ABOUT US
In 2002 Broughton became one of the first Business & Enterprise Colleges in the country. This meant that as well as offering the full range of national curriculum subjects the school would offer business and enterprise education to all pupils. It also marked the beginning of a new era at Broughton when the governing body decided to change the name of the school from Broughton High School to Broughton Business & Enterprise College.
In 2005 high performing specialist schools were given the opportunity to take on another specialism. We were asked to become a Modern Foreign Language specialist school. With a high performing MFL department we were delighted to expand our specialism to encompass language skills.

| The extensive range of extra-curricular activities offered to pupils continues to be a strength of the school. Staff give unstintingly of their time outside of their normal teaching commitments at lunchtimes, after school, at weekends and during holiday periods.
For the non-sporting there is a wide range of other clubs and activities within the school including: Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme; Art & Design workshops; Chess Club; Christian Union; Paired Reading Scheme; Young Enterprise Scheme; Business & Industry Day; "Kids at Work" Day; HSBC school bank; Arts & Activities days; Charity work (Friends of Chernobyl; Dr Barnados; Help the Aged; Children in Need; Comic Relief); Annual talent show; World book day.
Drama is a very popular activity in the school and pupils may wish to audition for the annual summer production. Alternatively they may wish to pursue their talents in the "Mad to Perform" Drama Club. The school has a well equipped Drama Studio and outdoor performing facilities.
In addition the Drama and English Departments run a regular programme of visits to local and national theatre companies. These activities generally take place in the evening and there is a charge for both admission and transport.
