ABOUT US

Dolphinholme C of E Primary School was founded in 1865 then was extended in 1964 making the building more up to date as it hadn't been tampered with for nearly a century. Since then there has been a dedicated Early Years/Key Stage 1 unit constructed in 1996 and a vast range of renovations and modernisations since then.

The school is set in a tranquil village roughly 20 minutes away from the historic city of Lancaster. We are blessed with the greatest facilities and location to support our children's learning. We are a Church of England school serving the Parish of Dolphinholme and Nether Wyresdale and the south eastern edge of the city of Lancaster. We work in close partnership with the Parish of St. Mark's, and with the Diocese of Blackburn. We offer an unrivalled centre for learning excellence. We are proud of our children and support them in their growth and development. We celebrate success in all subjects and aspects of learning and truly support our motto: "ACHIEVEMENT FOR ALL"

VISION STATEMENT

Our school is working hard to create and maintain a safe and secure environment for children, with an atmosphere that fosters happiness and growing self-confidence. We aim to teach literacy and numeracy first and foremost, but in a way that will equip our children for the many challenges that face them now and in the new century. We also seek to develop in each child the realisation that individually they are unique and of immense worth, but also that they have an important contribution to make in maintaining and developing the society in which they live

ORGANISATION

Our school is a co-educational day school for children aged 4-11 years with over 400 on roll.

The school is set in its own grounds with large playing fields, separate playgrounds and a variety of play areas. There is also a school environmental area with a large pond.

The Junior Department for 7-11 year olds and the Infant Department for 4-7 year olds are housed in separate buildings and enjoy their own large halls for assemblies and P.E. as well as dining areas. Classrooms in both blocks are large, carpeted and well resourced. There is also a well-stocked music room and a separate resource room for Special Educational Needs.
