Great Eccleston Copp Church of England School is an Aided school. The school was established by a Trust in 1871 which continues to provide financial and other support. It is strongly influenced by St. Anne's Church which adjoins. The School is situated in pleasant rural surroundings between Great Eccleston and Elswick. The building includes six classrooms, a library, a small group room, a multi-activity hall, kitchens and administration areas. A large playground, playing field and car park are adjacent. The Governing Body consists of representatives from Blackburn Diocese, the County Council, the local Parish Councils, St. Anne's Parish Church, Parents and Teachers.

Copp Church of England School sets high academic and social standards. It is committed to providing a friendly, ordered and stimulating environment in which all children are given the opportunity to :

  • acquire the knowledge, skills, concepts and attitudes appropriate to their age and level of development
  • be encouraged to reach their full potential in all areas of the curriculum
  • become more independent as they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in order to participate in a changing world
  • grow in confidence and self-esteem through positive actions such as praise, reward and mutual respect
  • be happy in the knowledge that they are valued as individuals
  • develop a caring attitude towards and concern for their immediate environment and the world in which they live
  • develop a set of personal values and attitudes such as honesty, truthfulness, reliability, consideration for and acceptance of others

Copp School has Christian values and is committed to the care and development of all those within its family and wider community. We aim to stimulate the desire to explore and learn in preparation for life, in developing independence, confidence and self-esteem.
