ABOUT US
St. John’s Church of England Primary School was opened in 1879 and was established to meet the educational needs of the children living in the parish of Hindley Green. In 2001, the school continues to strive to meet the educational needs of children between the ages of 5 and 11 years.
St. John’s is a Church of England Voluntary Aided school. We enjoy good links with St. John’s Church and our Vicar, Rev. Christine Warrilow, is often seen around our school. We visit Church for a Eucharist Service twice each term and the Vicar takes part in our Wednesday Assemblies each week.
We are a single form entry primary school, with seven classes. Currently, we have 215 children on roll. Each class caters for a single year group and follows the National Literacy and Numeracy strategies as well as a programme of National Curriculum topics.
