Each term has planned activities appropriate to the children’s age and needs and this ensures equal
opportunities for all. For example, boys are encouraged to play in the home corner and girls with
construction toys. The curriculum in the Foundation Stage is based on the governments Early
Learning Goals.
We aim to provide a broad, balanced, differentiated and challenging curriculum. We are developing a whole
school approach to the implementation of the National Curriculum 2000 and its associated assessment
arrangements. All school and curriculum policies are developed as a continuum ensuring continuity and
progression. Our teaching methods reflect a balance between formal and informal approaches. Due
recognition is given to the importance of first hand experience through practical work thus encouraging the
application of order, literacy, numeracy and technological skills. |
