Our Mission at Lord Street School is to provide the highest quality of education for our children.

We intend our pupils to acquire the skills and knowledge which will enable them to develop as whole people.

We believe that quality education is derived from quality people and accordingly we are dedicated to the training and continual development of all our staff.

The school follows the National Curriculum as set out by the Secretary of State of Education.

The school provides free musical tuition for pupils in the Junior department. We have an excellent school brass band who has attended many musical festivals including the National Festival of Music for Youth at the South Bank in London when they were awarded a certificate for outstanding performance. They also perform regularly at the Colne Municipal Hall and other local venues. The school also have choir, recorders, flute and guitar groups.

The school has a playing field just across the road from the school, a luxury in a town school, which is used for football, rounders and rugby training and matches as well as the school’s sports day.
