At Lostock Hall Community Primary School we aim to provide a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum supported by spiritual, social, moral, physical and creative elements in an ordered, caring and happy environment.

Our school curriculum encompasses Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, Science, RE, and the full range of National subjects.

We are particularly proud of the ‘Basic Skills’ Award we achieved, demonstrating our excellent teaching in these areas. As a Literacy Host School with a Literacy Consultant and a Literacy mentor Headteacher this is clearly one of our strengths.

There is also special pride in the breadth and balance offered to our pupils in areas encompassing preparation for adult life and Creativity/Cultural areas-Citizenship, PSHE, Spiritural, Moral and Social Education, Creative and Cultural studies, Financial Capability and Enterprise.

We aim to develop the full potential of all our pupils in terms of their individual self-expression, talent, self-confidence and self-esteem.

We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities incuding Cross Country, Football, Dance, Drama, Cricket, Tennis, creative Writing, Art, Languages and Choir.

Parental written permission is needed for a child to take part in these activities. These activities take place after school finishing at 4.00pm

Instrumental music tuition is available in brass, woodwind, guitar, keyboard, and string instruments. These lessons are on a subsidised payment basis. We also offer the Musical Entltlement scheme where all of our Year Four pupils have the opportunity to learn either Cello or Violin.
