ABOUT US

We are an 11 –18 Comprehensive and 6 Form Centre, offering seven years of successful education. As one of the largest schools in Lancashire, we can offer a wide range of curricular & extra-curricular activities, along with Technology College status.

We are situated in Lytham St. Annes, North West England, near the popular seaside resort of Blackpool. The school has a long and proud history of excellence since opening in 1955 as Ansdell County Secondary School.

For the last 10 years we have had Specialist School status as a Technology College, which has given us the resources to develop facilities and expertise in the areas of Technology, Science and Mathematics, to the benefit students over the years.

In addition it is has given us the opportunity to support the wider community in terms of our local partner schools and other commercial and business organisations.

The benefits of specialist school status, although applying to particular subjects, has a knock on effect on the rest of the school both directly in terms of resources, and indirectly in providing the opportunity to develop new ideas and strategies.

We are a 6th Form attached to the biggest, mixed comprehensive school in Lancashire. Our campus, and the fact that we are a Technology College, enables us to offer unrivalled opportunities and resources for curricular and extra-curricular activities to post 16 students.

All students who applied, earned a place at university to study the subjects of their choice whilst many entered direct employment or decided to take a gap year.

Our Expressive Arts Department offers wonderful opportunities for self expression and public performance.

The teaching of Drama, Dance, Theatre Studies, Music, Music Technology and Art has been awarded the prestigious SILVER ARTS MARK.

There are dozens of clubs and societies to enjoy at lunchtime and after school, trips to destinations far and near, and lots of competitions to sharpen up your brains!
