Established in the 1930's, Norbreck is now a modern and forward looking primary school which caters for the needs of all children from 4 to 11 years of age.

Norbreck is a very large primary school with nearly 600 children on roll and over 70 staff. Norbreck is also a school with an excellent reputation in its local community.

The standard admission number for the school is 90 giving us a maximum of 630 children. In September 2007 there will be approximately 580 children on roll.

There are seven year groups in the school; Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 (Key Stage 1) and Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 (Key Stage 2).

Each year group of children is divided into three classes giving us 21 classes. Throughout the school, each class is taught by one teacher for all subjects. Additional input from specialist staff may occur from time to time.

Hours spent on teaching per week is in-line with statutory requirements and equals 21 hours or more in Key Stage 1 and 23.5 hours in Key Stage 2.
