ABOUT US

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is in Ashton under Lyne, in the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, about seven miles east of Manchester.

We are a small, friendly, successful school of around 200 pupils, including our Nursery. We are proud of our 'family feel' and serve the St. Ann's Roman Catholic parish in Ashton-under-Lyne.

• To educate our children in the teachings and example of Jesus Christ in accordance with the Catholic Church, encouraging them to take an active part in the religious life of the school, parish and wider community.
• To provide a stable and relaxed environment which reflects an atmosphere of love, where our children can work co-operatively and develop independence.
• To promote the importance of worship as an integral part of providing for our school family.
• To show concern for the physical and spiritual well-being of all those who contribute to the development of our school.
• To help our children to acquire knowledge and skills relevant to adult life.
• To help our children to understand the world in which they live.
• To help our children to enjoy their particular stage of development and to prepare them for the next stage in their school career.
