| ABOUT US
Our Lady’s School was
founded in 1896. The original
building was situated in
St. Albans Road. Our present
school was completed in
1968, but some children
remained at the old site. In
September 1983, the two
remaining classes moved
to our present site and the
original school building was
vacated after 87 years.
Our school places Christ
at the centre of all thoughts,
actions and words and we
strive to serve, challenge,
guide and inspire your
child to grow in the image
of Christ.
|
| Our School vision is of a
community working together
in openness, trust and respect where all members of the
community are:
- Challenged to develop
their strengths and
acknowledge their
weaknesses
- Given continuous
opportunities to develop
their relationship with God
as they grow in his image
- Valued and respected for
who they are
- Encouraged to be the best
that they can be
- Inspired to believe that
they are precious in
God’s eyes.
|
| At Our Lady Star of the Sea
we place the curriculum at
the heart of the school.
Learning is at the centre of
everything we do - it
involves, and is participated
in, by everyone in our whole
community. We strive to
provide a rich, broad and
balanced curriculum and
have a strong commitment to
guiding and supporting all
children to succeed whatever
their background or ability.
We want our children to
develop spiritually, socially,
emotionally, physically and
academically. Most
importantly we want them to
take pride in their learning
and as independent learners
take responsibility for their
own learning as they
develop their relationship
with God. Our daily practice
of our learning and teaching
policy demonstrates our
commitment to raising
standards and giving all
children the opportunity to
realise their full potential. |
| At Our Lady Star of the Sea
we strive to provide as many
opportunities as possible for
children to learn and
develop. We are continuously
evaluating our school
curriculum to ensure that all
children are receiving
learning which is both
excellent and enjoyable.
All children are welcome to
join in activities which are
arranged at lunchtimes and
after school.
At present we offer a variety
of clubs:
- Violin and Guitar for
Years 4,5,6
- Handwriting club for both
KS1 and 2
- Football, netball, athletics
and cricket for KS2 pupils
- Prayer Groups for both KS1
& KS2 pupils
