At Penwortham Primary School we believe education is a partnership between school, parents and children which aims to develop each pupil’s moral values, confidence and potential in a welcoming, secure and challenging learning environment.

• To provide a broad-based curriculum which seeks the highest academic standards and which seeks to meet the varying needs of individual pupils.
• To foster the development of each pupil’s skills, knowledge and an enthusiasm for learning.

The school places a great emphasis on the academic achievement of each child. From the very first days in school we work hard to impart knowledge to pupils and to teach them the skills they need to acquire knowledge by themselves and to become independent, industrious learners.

The Curriculum is broad and whilst the focus is on English, Mathematics, Science and I.T. Much time is also spent teaching the Humanities, the Arts and Physical Education.

We are a caring school and aim to make the school a happy, friendly and secure yet businesslike environment for all pupils and staff. We find that happy and secure pupils produce better work.

The school is a partnership between parents, pupils and teachers and we encourage parental involvement at all levels in the pupils’ education. Our academic success is directly linked to the involvement of parents in their children’s education.
