Currently the school is divided into five classes ie Reception; Year 1&2; Year 2&3; Year 4&5; and Year 5&6. We strive to provide a wide range of learning opportunities for all our children to help them grow into responsible and independent citizens of the future. Pupils at Ribby with Wrea CE Primary School encounter high quality teaching and learning opportunities, in a rich creatively balanced curriculum. This, we believe, equips children with lifelong transferable skills as well as laying down important foundation for their future learning.

As a Church of England Primary School we are proud of the close links that we have with St Nicholas Church. We provide the children in our care with the opportunity to ‘live’ the Christian faith. We base all that we do on maintaining the values of Christ’s Gospel: Repentence, Reconciliation, Love, Respect, Trust, Hope and Discipline. In doing so we aim to equip pupils with the moral strength and spiritual depth to weather life’s ups and downs.

To educate all children to their full potential in our Christian family

As well as teaching the requirements of the National Curriculum, we are lucky to be able to enhance the subjects we offer with a number of “extras”as part of our curriculum.

All children in Year 4 / 5 are involved in the Wider Opportunities Music Scheme. This means that once a week they all get the opportunity to learn and play wind, brass and percussion instruments as a class, with expert tuition from Lancashire Music Service.

All children in school, from Reception through to Year 6 have weekly French lessons with Mrs Metherell. These are great fun and enjoyed by all the children.

We are also able to supplement our PE curriculum with professional coaching from both a dance teacher and the YMCA. This greatly enhances the experience of PE for all children.

Football practice is on a Monday night after school with Mr Walsh.

Netball for Years 4,5 and 6 is after school on a Tuesday.

On a Wednesday morning before school Julian Wilson offers squash coaching.

The YMCA come to school on a Thursday morning before school and run a fun PE club.

Team Theme football is after school on a Wednesday.

There is an ICT club on a Friday lunchtime.

We really enjoy having other people in to run specialist clubs too. This year we have had Team Theme football and Mad Science.
