| ABOUT US
From its foundation in 1844 to its place at the forefront of 21st Century education, Rossall School has been a seat of learning, a place of character and a defining influence on successive generations of students.
The modern Rossall is a very forward-looking school offering a range of opportunities typified by the adoption of the International Baccalaureate Diploma and the Primary Years Programme in the Junior School. Alongside this sits a more traditional A Level and GCSE programme allowing every student to choose a course that suits their specific needs.
|
| You're never too young to start learning, and here at Rossall, your son or daughter can take their first steps on the road to a very special educational experience by attending Rossall Nursery and Infant School.
The modern, purpose-built Nursery premises are situated in a quiet spot on the main Rossall campus with plenty of space - both inside and out - for our nursery-age children to play, learn and grow.
Rossall is committed to providing first-class Nursery provision from the age of two, in the strongly held belief that even the youngest children derive a very real advantage from the structured and varied programme on offer. We are open 50 weeks of the year and attendance can usually be arranged to fit each family's individual requirements. When your child is ready to move up to the Infants, you will be comforted to know that the transition from Nursery will be a lot easier than you think. This is because Rossall Infants is situated in the same building as the Nursery School and run by the same staff, allowing your son or daughter to accustom themselves to the next stage of their education in familiar surroundings with the teachers they are used to.
|
| Situated in the heart of the campus, next to 150 acres of playing fields, our Infant School shares the same site as our Nursery School.
Our Infant School pupils are nurtured in a happy, structured environment, with separate classrooms, playgrounds and facilities helping them prepare for Junior School.
|
| It’s in the early years that children develop their first, all-important perspectives on the educational process and – crucially – this experience forms the basis for their approach to future learning.
By fostering positive attitudes towards every aspect of school life, we encourage our very youngest students to acquire an appetite for learning that will grow and mature as they progress through the school towards the fulfilment of their own ambitions and aspirations.
Whilst many of the children in Rossall’s Junior School progress logically from Infants, some also transfer from their local state school to enjoy the excellent advantages of life, learning and leisure on this exemplary campus.
Rossall Junior School offers your son or daughter the benefit of small class sizes, superb facilities and an extended day (if required) in a family-oriented co-educational environment. From the age of 7 upwards, your child also has the option to board in our Junior boarding unit, Anchor House, which caters for pupils from age 7-14, on a full, flexible or weekly basis. Currently 15 % of our Junior School pupils make use of Anchor Boarding House and this number is growing. The majority of pupils in Junior School are day pupils with an increasing number taking advantage of our flexi and weekly boarding offer as and when required.
|
| Rossall Middle School is a very special place - a wonderful mix of learning opportunities, activities, people, languages and cultures. Working together and playing together, Rossall Senior School pupils receive a unique educational experience that leads to a well-rounded appreciation of – and approach to – all that life has to offer.
At Year 7, your son or daughter will enter Middle School which is home to Years 7, 8 and 9 and is housed in a stand alone building at the front of the campus. Each year group has its own area of Middle School and across these three year groups, your child will be placed into one of three co-educational Houses:
