Sacred Heart Primary School is a Voluntary Aided Catholic Day School for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years situated in the Parish of Sacred Heart, Leigh. The school has a close relationship with the church and Father John visits school on a regular basis.

As a church school we enable our children to develop responsible attitudes towards each other, to understand right from wrong and to care for others. Our staff encourage the children to have a high regard for how their actions affect others and there is a strong Christian ethos and tradition within the school.

Our school is built on a foundation of the Christian Gospels and the teachings of the Catholic Church.

We aim to provide a high quality education which enables each child to grow to their full potential.

  • Act with courtesy and consideration to others at all times. (i.e. treat others as you would have others treat you).
  • Do your best at all times.
  • Try to understand other people’s point of view.
  • Make it possible for others in class to learn and for teachers to teach.
  • Move sensibly and quietly around the school.
  • Be polite.
  • Keep the school clean and tidy.
  • Behave properly at playtimes and dinner times.
  • Remember that the school’s reputation depends on how everyone behaves both in and out of school.
