ABOUT US

Our school is situated approximately half a mile from the sea front in Morecambe. We celebrated our centenary in 2001. It was an all age school and then became a Junior and Infant school in 1936. There have been several additions to the school both at Hampton Road and Balmoral Road sites. The Nursery was built in 1992. We have a field on this site. We are a Community Primary School. There are 2 forms in each year group. The Nursery children attend either the morning or afternoon session.

At Sandylands we are committed to providing the children with a broad and balanced curriculum within a caring environment. I am confident that this is the impression that visitors to the school see. Our staff are very experienced, enthusiastic and are dedicated to all achieving their best in all they do.

ETHOS STATEMENT

We aim to create a positive, interesting, stimulating and caring environment in which the children can develop and mature to achieve their full potential. Alongside the fostering of good relationships, we encourage pupils to respect and value people equally regardless of their differences. We encourage partnerships between the home, school and the community. We encourage the development of a sense of responsibility, self-discipline and creative thinking. We strive to develop in pupils a joy of the value of life and recognition of their responsibility in maintaining an ordered and caring society.

NURSERY AND RECEPTION
