Most student amenities (the Sports Centre, the Library, Computer Centre, the Communal Building, Students' Union) are linked by a pedestrian spine. The four main academic buildings (Richmond, Horton, Chesham and Phoenix) are all nearby, as are the Bradford, University, Shearbridge, Longside and Kirkstone halls of residence.
Revis Barber, Dennis Bellamy, and Trinity halls are a few hundred yards away, on Laisteridge Lane. The School of Health Studies is situated in the Unity Building, with its own hall of residence. The School of Management is just over two miles away, on its own parkland site, with a shuttle bus in operation.
There is considerable private accommodation rented by students on the streets bordering Laisteridge Lane, and further up Great Horton Road. The city centre is just 400 yards down Great Horton Road. Most students, whether in halls or in private accommodation, are thus able to play a full part in the social and recreational life of both the University and the city, with shops, pubs, clubs and entertainment only minutes away.
