One of the best things about going to university is that you get to live independently away from home. Most students end up in one of Bristol's nine halls of residence. The following section contains reviews and advice about all of these options.

Stoke Bishop - These halls are located forty minute walk away from the University precinct, just outside the city centre. So many students in close proximity creates a vibrant campus atmosphere.

Badock *, Churchill *, Durdham, Hiatt Baker *, University Hall, Wills *

Clifton - These halls are only about fifteen minutes walk away from the University precinct, and are located in the very nicest part of Bristol. However due to the smaller number of halls and the closeness of the city centre, these halls lose the campus atmosphere of Stoke Bishop.

Clifton Hill House *, Goldney, Manor

* = Catered, otherwise self-catered

Student Houses

Due to the lack of spaces not evey student will get into hall. Living in a student house inevitably changes your first year at university, but not necessarily in a bad way. Living in a student house is a much more independent way of life. This infamous realm, 'out of hall' will not ruin your first year. For example, Fry Haldane is a society run specifically for students not living in hall. Click on the links to find out more:

Hawthorns, Northwell, Winkworth, Fry Haldane

All self-catered

Postgraduate Residences

This is the only purpose built postgraduate hall in the University.
