Working at the University
An International University
Welcome to Coventry University's website. We are here to help you in any way that we can. We take pride in the culture and richness brought to campus life by 2,600 international students from more than 90 different countries, such as China, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Ghana, Nigeria, Jordan, Oman, France, Greece, Cyprus, Poland, Germany, Spain and Finland. The University is based in the centre of Coventry and we have lots of on campus accommodation. This means that you can walk to your lectures within a very short period of time.

Our International Office staff speak over ten languages and are here to answer your queries. Whether you have a question about immigration, welcome week, your application or how to apply, we're here to help. Please visit the contact us page to submit your query.
New Students
Joining us this September? All your questions are answered in our new Welcome Booklet.
Not sure how to get to us after you've arrived in the UK? - The University provides airport pickups from Birmingham airport and Heathrow airport.
If you are coming to Coventry for the first time you will find that Coventry City really embraces its international students and will make you feel very welcome. During Welcome Week the Lord Mayor of Coventry and our Vice Chancellor, Madeleine Atkins, invites the international students to Coventry Cathedral to say 'Welcome to Coventry'. Throughout this week you will have the opportunity to meet other students and after a very short time you will have made lots of new friends and feel at home ready to start your chosen course of study.
Before arrival and throughout the year there are advisers in the International Office to provide guidance on a range of issues, whether you just want to chat or have questions about employment regulations, accommodation, immigration, finance, travel or if you are considering continuing with your education at Coventry University. A Living Brochure for new students joining us in 2007 is available.
The Welcome Week is organised and managed by the International Office Welfare team who are very friendly and helpful. We will assist you to open a UK bank account, obtain a National Insurance Number should you wish to look for part-time work, register with a doctor or police and help you in any way that we can.
The International Office also offers a very popular social programme throughout the year with great value visits to popular tourist spots within the UK such as London, Cambridge, and Edinburgh in Scotland, and throughout Europe like Paris and Amsterdam, as well as events on campus. One thing we can guarantee when you visit the International Office is a smile and the chance to meet friendly staff who are very experienced in helping 'you' - our international student and guest to Coventry University and the UK.
