Welcome to Beech Hill Primary School!!!
Beech Hill is a beautiful school with fantastically well behaved children. We are located just 40 minutes from the centre of London in Luton. Our town has its own airport with flights to most of Europe. We are on the M1 motorway with easy links to the North of Britain.
It has 3 halls - Beech Hall, Ash Hall and the Community Hall. All these halls can be let-out to suitably approved organisations. Ash Hall has a stage with lighting. There are disabled toilets and showers off The Community Hall. We use these halls for PE, Assemblies and lunch. We will have 20 classes in 2005-6 and 21 in 2006-7. There are about 550 pupils on roll at the moment this will grow to about 600 over the next few years as we expand.
Most of our children come from ethnic minority backgrounds: Bengali, Pakistani, Turkish, Sri Lanka, English, Eastern European and African. This gives our school a wonderfully diverse feel. Our children can speak many languages from Benglai, Urdu, Tamil, Dutch, Polish, Latvian, French and Swedish in addition to English - they are a talented bunch! Our staff also have good international credentials with teachers from UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Fuji, Poland and South Africa. We are proud of the diversity of our teaching staff and the range of experience they bring to our school - our teachers work really hard and are committed to the children at Beech Hill.
We have seen a big improvement in our KS1 results this year (2005)and a gradual progression upwards in KS2 and we expect this upward trend to continue over the next few years until we are at national levels (or above), in all areas.
Our school building is a lovely old building- and we are realising its potential to be beautiful as we have worked very hard to renovate the whole site and make it look really smart.
