The school is organised on a year group basis, with each child being allocated to a form within the appropriate Year Group. The Form Teacher is a most important person in the daily life of a child at St Bede's, since this is the first person to whom the child will normally go when problems arise. The Form Teacher, who sees the children in the form twice each day, works closely with the Year Co-ordinator, who is responsible for the overall academic progress, attendance and welfare of the children in the Year Group. Pupils are generally taught in mixed ability form groups throughout the school, although in some subjects children are grouped according to ability. In Years 7 & 8, English, Mathematics and Science are currently blocked together on the timetable and are taught in broad ability sets.

At St Bede's we believe in the importance of school uniform in helping to build up a sense of community and belonging. Consequently we will not condone any non-compliance with regards to the wearing of full school uniform at all times |

| The school library is open each day during morning break and at Lunch times. Each child may choose upto 3 books at any given point in time. They may borrow the books for 3 weeks at a time. |

The Library is central to a considerable amount of the teaching and learning in the school. It is pleasantly housed in newly decorated areas and stocked with over 5000 volumes. The library is not only a source of popular fiction for children; it also supports all areas of the curriculum with reference materials and resources. The Library is an attractive setting for watching recorded materials and for the display of children's work. The Library has been computerised to enable it to be used more efficiently.
The Library benefits greatly from the daily presence of a trained librarian, and is open every break and lunchtime for pupils to make use of its facilities, which include a multi-media computer. |

Once a week on a Thursday morning break, students are welcome to our Prayer Group meeting. This is sometimes held within the Chapel. |

| We welcome with open arms Pastoral Youth Worker Joe-Ann Gaunt who inspires and encourages the group. |
Children of all faiths are welcome, activities includes singing, listening to music, creating prayer cards and of course praying for each other and the world. |
