At Cookham Rise we believe that we should provide the first steps on an educational journey, which will last throughout life. |

Cookham Rise Primary School is located on High Road adjacent to the Alfred Major Playing fields. The school has existed on its current site since 1903, when it was established to provide secondary education for Cookham children. When secondary education was relocated to three schools in the Maidenhead area in 1957, Cookham Rise became a primary school. Since then, extra classrooms and a spacious hall/gymnasium have been added to the existing buildings with additional playground and field space. In Summer 1999, a further five classrooms were added replacing older buildings that had been erected during the Second World War. These include a computer room, which houses twenty five networked computers. In 2002 the new Library and Community complex was opened in the grounds of the school, making it a central point of the community. The main hall of the school is available to be let out for larger meetings and functions, while the library is available for smaller meetings, a grass area outside, the size of a football pitch is also available. The school takes pride in maintaining its strong village traditions with many of its pupils being the third or fourth generation of the family to attend.

MISSION STATEMENT
We are committed to doing the very best for all of our children. This means that we will provide a happy, secure, safe and stimulating environment in which each child may flourish emotionally, socially and academically.
All children will be treated fairly. They will all receive the best possible broad and balanced primary education. Special help will be given to those who may require additional support. Equally, special talents and abilities will be encouraged and developed.
All staff will present positive role models to the children. This will enable them to show respect for adults and develop respect for their peers and themselves, and to take pride in and celebrate their individuality.
SCHOOL AIMS
Cookham Rise Primary School is a community of teachers, governors, parents, support staff and, of course, children. As a team, we work together to support and motivate one another, creating a positive learning and teaching environment.
To help us achieve this, we aim to:
Make our school a caring and welcoming place to be, where everyone is respected and valued.
Encourage everyone to want to reach his/her full potential in all aspects of school life, taking pride in all his/her successes.
Promote a genuine desire and excitement towards learning, achievement and life in everyone.
