Dear Parents,

The government recognises the importance of homework from an early age and has recommended that schools provide organised homework to raise standards of achievement.

Whilst our school has always provided homework, we see it as important that you, as parents, are aware of the homework policies of each year group and the expected amount of homework during the course of a week.

Each child in year 6 will have a homework diary which should be signed by you weekly.  The diary will have details of the work expected and also a note of any letters that should have gone home.  It also allows for any comments you may wish to make.

The chart below gives specific information on homework for each year group.

We hope that you will find this information useful.

Yours faithfully
