Welcome to our school website

Rivermead primary School is one of the good schools in Woodley.

Our children enjoy coming to school

“Rivermead is a happy place to be.

Our children both look forward to coming to school,

                 which is a reflection on the staff and atmosphere.”          - parent

Our Ethos

Rivermead School provides an education to girls and boys aged 4 to 11 years of age

 in a friendly and focused environment.

Our teachers are experienced and dedicated and are supported

by high quality classroom assistants.

Working together the staff, strive to bring out the best in each pupil.

At Rivermead School, we value every child as an individual and work with them, to enable them to

learn and grow and prepare them for the next stage in their life.

At Rivermead School we promise:

- to provide a vibrant, happy and safe learning environment which enables every

child to achieve the best they can regardless of gender, ethnic or social

background or educational needs;

- to promote the importance of healthy life-styles, respect for the environment

and the value of personal relationships based on mutual respect;

- to prepare pupils for the responsibilities and opportunities that arise throughout

life in a multi-cultural and technological society;

What our parents say:

.............

“The Breakfast Club is well organised

and a godsend to working parents.”

Community

Rivermead is proud of its links with the Woodley community. The school has been part of  Woodley since the 1939, when   it  was a secondary school. It was later converted for use as a primary school, and has since started many of our local     community on their path to "fame and fortune". One of current Teaching Assistants was once a pupil, and many of our  children are second generation pupils.

The school plays host to a number of local events and groups:

The annual fireworks display, run by the scouts, is staged on our large field. This is well attended and a popular venue for November 5th for many local families.

The Woodley Light Operatic Society rehearse for their shows in our hall and provide entertainment for the governors at their evening meetings!

The WASPS (Woodley After School Play Scheme) is based in school and provides care for children from a number of schools from end-of-school until 6 pm.

Local scouts and their families will be familiar with the Scout Shop which operates from our school grounds.

From time-to-time we have collected some of the children's work for display in team folders.

Yellow team: Years 1 & 2         Red team: Years 3 & 4         Orange team: Years 5 & 6

WASPS After School Club  operates within the school.

Sessions run from 3.15 to 6 pm, and include a snack tea.

WASPS is a non profit-making organisation providing a high-quality play environment for rising 5s to 11 year olds.
