Welcome to St Martin’s School
St. Martin's is a Church of England primary school catering for children from the age of 4 to 11 years which, as its name suggests, has close links with the parish church of the same name. Established as a National School in 1834 it has served local families for more than 160 years.
The school is a thriving, friendly place where children learn, grow and develop within a caring, Christian environment and families feel part of a real community.
We achieve high academic standards in our excellent facilities in a glorious rural setting. Flexible staffing allows for small teaching groups and the school is very well equipped thanks to a hard-working and supportive parents' association.
In addition to the everyday curriculum we offer many varied activities which include: a range of sports and clubs, including French; specialist days; themed projects with off-site outings and an annual residential week for older children.
Uniform
We expect that all children will wear approved school uniform. Children play outside throughout the winter months, and should therefore always have suitable outdoor clothing, including hats, gloves and scarves if needed.
Our uniforms, book bags and PE bags etc. are stocked by the National Schoolwear Centre in Bartholomew Street, Newbury.
