Whitchurch Primary School is a four-classroom school built in 1965, in a quiet, safe location designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Two of the classrooms face the wooded slopes of Whitchurch Hill and are separated from the other two classrooms by the school hall. The hall serves as a gymnasium, television room and dining hall, and has bays around the sides which house the school ICT suite, music instruments plus resources for humanities and science teaching.
In the school grounds there is a hard-surface netball court, a grass football pitch, adventure and woodland areas, a pond and meadow, and ample open play areas.
Whitchurch Pre-School also operates from a classroom within the school grounds, and shares a garden with the Foundation Stage children.
The immediate environs of the school, the village of Whitchurch on Thames and the nearby River Thames all provide rewarding opportunities for fieldwork studies through which the pupils can learn to understand key concepts across the whole spectrum of the curriculum.
A maximum of 105 children attend the school, divided into four classes, each of which has a page on this site to display their work.
Dear Parents,
Welcome to our school. Whitchurch is a lively village school situated near the River Thames in a beautiful setting.
Our school is a happy and exciting place for learning, playing games and exploring our special environment. The school is at the heart of the community and as such the children learn consideration for others and to appreciate the different skills and talents that surround them.
Our classes are small and therefore allow us to concentrate on each individual child. We want our children to receive an education of the highest quality and to develop their full potential, not only intellectually, but also creatively, spiritually and morally, but the greatest emphasis is on the development of motivated and self-confident children.
This website contains just a glimpse of the school, if you are deciding on a school for your child, we urge you to make an appoinment to come and visit us whilst we are hard at work and play.
