Start: 8.50am Lunch: 12.20 - 1.15pm Ends: 3.10pm
Children may have a school dinner, bring a packed lunch or go home for lunch.
School dinners: The cost of school dinners is £1.45 per day. This should be sent to school each Monday in an envelope clearly marked with your child's name and class. Cheques should be made payable to Bristol City Council. If you think you are entitled to free school meals, please call at the office where appropriate arrangements can be made.
Packed lunches: These should be in a container clearly labelled with name and class.
Going home for lunch: Children who go home for lunch must be collected from school and should not return until 1.15 pm.
During lunchtime: We expect children to enjoy eating and playing together and to behave sensibly. There are three separate play areas. The car park is out of bounds.
Snacks: Children may bring fruit, plain biscuits or crisps to eat during morning break. Only soft, still drinks are allowed in school.
Absence: If your child is unable to come to school, it is necessary to contact the school by 10.00am on the first day of absence, usually by telephone. If you are going on holiday, please ask for a 'planned absence' form although it is preferable if the holiday could be arranged to coincide with school holidays. During term time, holidays should be limited to a maximum of two weeks per year. Please note that the headteacher can only give permission for children to be absent from school for reasons of illness, medical and dental appointments, an approved activity, a special religious day relevant to the family, or an urgent family crisis. Absences for outings, parties, shopping etc. are not permitted. All unauthorised absences must be reported. It is not the policy of the school to set work for children who are absent.
Punctuality: Children must be in school at the given time. Children who arrive late often feel embarrassed and uncomfortable and do not know what to do as they have missed the start of the lesson.
End of the day: Children must be collected punctually from school. If arrangements for going home do have to change during the day, please inform the office as soon as possible. Staff will endeavour to pass the message to the class teacher or child concerned.
Clothing and Personal Property
We have a school uniform because it:
enables children to identify with the school
reinforces a positive work ethos
reduces expenditure for parents
We expect that children will wear the school uniform, with the appropriate footwear. The school colour is navy with grey, black or navy skirt or trousers. The styles must be plain. Your child will also need a bag for school items and homework, a PE bag and a craft shirt. All items of clothing must be clearly named.
School sweat tops, polo shirts, summer dresses, PE kit, homework bags and PE bags can be bought from school.
Full details of the school uniform and price list are available from the office.
