Our school takes in 60 pupils each year, making two classes of 30. We take children into our nursery the term after they are four, and they join the main school in the term they have their fifth birthday.

The school also runs an Afternoon Club providing activities for those who attend part-time (i.e. nursery and early reception). Here, parents can choose to pay for afternoon care and lunch in school. For complete "wraparound care" we also have the Woodlands Day Nursery on site. They will take children from two and a half years to four years. They open from 8am - 6pm daily. They are also happy to provide care from 8am - 9am and 3pm - 6pm for pupils of school age.

The motto for our school is "Learning and Growing Together". It is a safe, happy environment, with a strong anti-bullying policy. We encourage confidence and self-esteem with circle time and PSHE lessons. Our children enjoy performing for assemblies and productions, and the curriculum provides a rich and varied experience. We have extra curricular activities such as yoga, French, dance, choir and football coaching, and staff enjoy a regular keep-fit session one lunch-time.
The school is set in beautiful grounds, where each class has its own patch of garden to tend. All early years classes have their own outdoor play area. We recycle paper and have a fruit/vegetable composter where we recycle waste from healthy snacks.
I hope you will enjoy reading the various articles and seeing the children's contributions on this website.

The Afternoon Club provides childcare for all Nursery children and children who are in their first term in Reception and who are not yet full-time. The session is held from 12.00 - 3.00pm in the Nursery, Monday to Friday.

The Afternoon Club offers a range of activities and is supervised by experienced staff who work in the Nursery and Reception classes each morning. The sessions are very relaxed and informal and the children can choose from a variety of activities, including:

  • painting
  • sand play
  • water play
  • construction
  • computer play
  • imaginative play

We also set up an art and craft activity every day and opportunities to do cookery, pottery, and musical activities are available on a rota basis. the children go outside on the bikes and scooters every afternoon, weather permitting.

The charge is £3.50 per hour if staying for one day, with a sliding scale of reductions if they stay for several sessions each week. We also provide lunch only sessions as an option.

The Afternoon Club is a safe and stimulating environment for your child, offering them a relaxed playtime with friends. It is a useful introduction to full-time school, giving them an opportunity to become familiar with having lunch, staying all day and their later schooling life.
