Welcome to our school web site.

We have created our web page to show visitors a little of what we do and believe in at Great Linford. It also allows our pupils to access some of the internet sites that we use regularly at school, from home and to see some of their own work published on the web.

For parents we include latest school news and an up to date list of diary dates just in case you lost that last news letter.

Our page is updated by Mr Fowler so if you want to have anything put into the site contact him.

ETHOS

We want children to learn to:

Be good citizens, showing respect for themselves, others and the environment

Have high self-esteem

Achieve their full potential in all areas of the curriculum

Develop the confidence necessary to take part in the ever changing, technological world.

Be highly motivated, well organised learners

Be able to work independently and contribute effectively within a group.

Develop moral and spiritual awareness within which there is tolerance to other races, religions and ways of life.

We will provide:

An ethos of support, challenge and encouragement to succeed

High expectations of what ALL our children can achieve and varied opportunities to put learning into practice

A broad, challenging, active, and relevant curriculum

A stimulating, well resourced and secure learning environment

An enriching range of extra curricular activities and visits

Opportunities for high quality professional development for all staff.

A positive learning partnership between school, home and the community where the involvement of others in school life is actively encouraged.

FRIENDS

Barbecue

Once again our Summer Barbecue was a great success with the weather smiling on us and defying the weather forecasters. Despite having a very small committee to work with the friends managed to put together a packed programme of events, keep the barbecues fire going and run a variety of stalls. The evening was really well attended and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Just think what we could have done with a committee of  20 people.

Pamper Yourself Night:

We are planning to hold an evening in school where local businesses providing luxury products and services can give trials and tester to parents. If you run a business that you think could benefit from this exposure please contact Mr Fowler at school.

Playground improvements:

These are now well underway. The grass should have recovered by September to ensure that pupils can use the new quiet area as soon as they return to school.

New Committee

The date has not yet been set for the first meeting of the new school year but we really need as many members as possible to make the Friends of Great Linford as much of a success in the future as it has been in these past years.
