The Beacon School
The Beacon is a preparatory school, which means that our task is to prepare boys for secondary education through a curriculum that offers both richness and diversity of opportunity. From the very earliest steps in initial learning, to independent success in competitive examinations our priority is to ensure a sound academic development.
Young minds and young bodies need a variety of different challenges and we pride ourselves on the breadth of the curriculum available, one which encompasses sport, music, drama and a variety of extra curricular clubs - there is something for all to inspire and enrich.
The school educates over 400 boys in surroundings that are pleasant and very well resourced, including fourteen acres of playing fields. With more than 50 academic staff class sizes are small and there is support for those pupils who have particular needs. Boys who have attended The Beacon are renowned for their success at senior schools and when they return talk with affection about their happy childhood.
Do have a look at the school's online prospectus and should you like to arrange an appointment to visit then please give the School Registrar, Mrs Korzinek, a call. I shall be delighted to meet with you, show you around The Beacon and answer any questions you may have.

On-Line Prospectus
Dear Parents
Welcome to The Beacon's on-line prospectus. I hope that browsing through these pages will give you a glimpse of our priorities and that you will discern at least three distinctive qualities.
Firstly, during the years of their childhood and early adolescence, we want our boys to be happy in an environment that is conducive to learning. Secondly, we strive for excellence in all areas of school life; for our intention is that Beacon boys should achieve at the level of their ability. Thirdly, we aim to develop the whole child by inspiring rather than moulding, by releasing rather than confining.
I am proud of The Beacon, of the boys, the staff and the facilities and would welcome the chance to introduce you to the school. Should you wish to visit, you will be welcome.
