Early Years
Introduction
In September 2000 the Foundation Stage was introduced nationally. This consists of a continuous curriculum spanning both the Nursery and Reception age groups. It has been welcomed as being relevant to the needs and ways of learning of these children. Mrs. Harrison, our Foundation Stage Co-ordinator, has given presentations to both staff and the governing body regarding this change.
During the year, various after-school clubs have started up for Key Stage 1 children which have proved very popular. Activities have included gym, games, art and gardening. We are grateful to those adults who have offered to share their expertise and interests for the benefit of our children.
Throughout the year, children from Reception to Year 2, have been responsible for leading Key Stage 1 Masses and have also performed in a variety of ways to celebrate Christmas. We thank those parents and friends who have supported all these events. |
