How does one describe Helenswood?

Well, it’s an 11-16 girls specialist Performing Arts College situated in Hastings, East Sussex with a federal sixth form in partnership with William Parker Sports College.
But that’s not the half of it!
Helenswood is blessed with highly committed talented teachers and associate staff who give their best to each student. A personalised learning framework for every member of staff and student ensures a culture of sustainable improvement and high motivation.
Our aim is to provide a centre of excellence for students who, through their Helenswood experience, will have gained the necessary academic and personal tools to enjoy a fulfilled life, realise their career ambitions and add value to society.
Enrichment activities across all subject areas provide learning opportunities beyond the classroom and in January 2008 we plan to open a Youth University for 4-16 yrs olds on Saturday mornings in partnership with local schools, Hastings FE College and University College Hastings.
Making a difference within the local community rates highly on the Helenswood list of priorities and all students are encouraged to become actively engaged in fund raising to support charities both here and abroad.
We believe that working together works miracles. Thus Helenswood has undertaken to be a partner in a charitable fund raising event with the business community and all other schools across Hastings to raise money for terminally ill youngsters in Hastings and those who are permanently disabled.
Helenswood is special: it feels special when you arrive through its doors. It is a warm and welcoming school with high expectations and aspirations for students at all levels.
Who then are best placed to describe Helenswood?
The students of course, and they say `it’s great, it’s a fun place to learn`.
