The content of the curriculum and the method of learning are of crucial and equal importance at primary level. We believe that the atmosphere, attitudes and organisation of our school are as important educationally as the knowledge and skills which are learned.
Our curriculum is broad and covers a wide range of subjects. There are 10 subject areas plus RE and PSHE in the National Curriculum which we teach across Key Stages1 and 2- Nursery and Reception (Foundation Key Stage) have a separate curriculum, details of which are posted on the Nursery page. In addition, we offer opportunities that we think are important in the education of the 'whole' child. In line with Government policy Robsack wood School continues to place Literacy and Numeracy as a top priority within the school curriculum. Along with ICT and Science, these form what is known as the Core Curriculum. Literacy and Numeracy are planned for using the National Strategy Frameworks, and for ICT and Science we follow the QCA Schemes of Work.
We continue to keep breadth and balance in our curriculum, and follow the QCA Schemes of Work for all other subjects - known as the Foundation Subjects.
