WELCOME!
I am pleased to welcome you as the Principal to Seaford Head Community College.
Seaford Head Community College is a co-educational comprehensive school for students aged 11 to 18+ years. It has over 1200 students, of whom over 150 are in the Sixth Form. As a Community College our work also encompasses Adult Education and the Youth Service for the Seaford area. Seaford Head Community College has a long history and has existed since the 19th century, becoming comprehensive in 1972 and achieving Community College status in May 1993. As such, we seek to provide a rich and co-ordinated educational service for the Seaford community.
This is our first year as a Specialist Science & Sports College and over the summer the capital works programme began with a new chemistry laboratory and refurbished maths rooms on the Arundel site and with the climbing wall and dance studio in progress for the Steyne site.
Over the next few years, the Governors and staff are united in a common aim that is to raise standards of student achievement through high quality teaching and learning and excellent behaviours and attitudes.
We have a dedicated staff who are committed to providing the best possible education for our students that will increase their life chances and deliver excellent student outcomes. High academic achievement is essential if our students are going to be able to compete in an ever changing international job market.
We value all of our students and believe that they will do well in a caring, disciplined and ordered environment. In response, we ask all students to respect the values on which the community is based. Fundamental to this is an expectation that all students will work hard, be courteous and show respect for others.
Our College is always open to visitors. Students are proud of their achievements and we would be happy to show you around.
Thank you for taking an interest and we welcome you to our College.
