Children learn by suggestion, investigation, trial and error. In the Junior School, we aim to engender a love of learning by creating an environment where they will feel confident to explore their ideas and fulfil their developing aspirations.
While we have high academic expectations for the children in our care, we consider the development of confidence, self-esteem, motivation, discipline and self-reliance to be no less important, if they are to become independent learners and take their place in our thriving Senior School.
In Years 3 to 8, a broad and balanced curriculum is offered, which meets the needs of the individual within the developing needs of our School and Society. Pupils are prepared for Key Stage 2 Tests and for Common Entrance or Scholarship to Public Schools at 13.
Years 3 and 4 are taught mainly by their Form Teachers with some input from Subject specialists who also teach the listed subjects in Years 5 to 8
