Whether you are considering St Mary’s for the future, have children already here or are just browsing, I hope you will find this website useful and interesting.
St Mary’s is a successful school in many fields – spiritual, academic, sporting, musical and social. The OFSTED and diocesan inspections of 2002 clearly identified the many achievements of the school and all involved have much to be proud of.
As a Catholic School St Mary’s aims to ensure that the children’s religious experiences are not confined to RE lessons but become a way of life for all involved in the school. The parish community and Fr Kevin are very supportive in this.
The Governors are responsible for the maintenance and development of the buildings and there have been significant improvements in the last few years. There are still more improvements in the pipeline but the children and staff of St Mary’s are fortunate to work in such a pleasant environment where good use is made of the spaces available.
The staff is the most valuable resource of any school and St Mary’s is fortunate to have an experienced, skilful, dedicated team who work hard for the benefit of all children.
I was delighted to join this school as headteacher in January 2004. When I visited prior to my application I was impressed by the ethos, which pervaded the atmosphere and daily life of the school, by the attitude of the pupils, by the art work evident in displays around the school and by the welcoming nature of all involved in the school.
If you would like to visit the school to experience this for yourself, please make an appointment for a visit.
