Welcome to Wadhurst C.E. Primary School

At Wadhurst C.E. Primary School, we are working to create and maintain a safe and secure environment for children, with an atmosphere that fosters happiness and growing self-confidence. We aim to teach Literacy and Numeracy first and foremost, but in a way that will equip our children for the many challenges that face them now in the new century. We also seek to develop in each child the realisation that individually they are unique and of immense worth, but also that they have an important contribution to make in maintaining and developing the society in which they live.

Mr. R.J.W. Marks B.A. (Head Teacher)

PUPIL`S WORK

Welcome to the section of our web site where we celebrate the work of pupils at our school.

Follow the links to find examples of work from all over the school.

CLUBS

Parents are reminded that extra curricular activities are voluntary undertakings by staff and other adults in their own time and without remuneration.

Children who join any of these activities are expected to attend regularly; an “I’ll turn up if I feel like it” attitude is unacceptable and may lead to exclusion from the activity.

We anticipate that some clubs may be highly subscribed; to avoid disappointment we would welcome help from interested parents.

Please approach the activity leader direct if you are available to help.

Thank you.

HSA

For parents who are new to the school, and as a reminder to everyone, the HSA (Home School Association) organises FUN fund raising events to enable the school to purchase items and contribute to projects not covered by the school budget.  These can either be large  or small items - for example, in 2004, the HSA contributed £13,000 towards the 2nd stage foundation work (Early Years' play area) and also bought two combination TV/Video sets, paints, picture books, new netball kits and balls as well as purchasing Easter eggs, a Christmas tree, crackers and drinks for the Christmas lunch plus the magician for the Infants' Christmas party.

Monies raised in 2005 will shortly be allocated to items requested by staff and pupils and the list of items purchased will be published on this website as well as in the regular HSA Newsletter.

All parents and staff are automatically members of the HSA however we are organised by a Committee which meets usually once a month to plan and arrange events (with more frequent meetings prior to events) and are supported by many parents and staff who offer their time to assist by helping at events in a variety of ways.

The Annual General Meeting of the HSA, at which the 2006 committee will be elected and 2006 events planned, is due to be held shortly.  If you are interested in either joining the 2006 committee or adding your name to the contact list of helpers - to facilitate our organisation of events - then please either come along to the AGM or drop your contact details (name/phone no/e-mail address) in the HSA box in the school office.  The AGM is on Thursday 23rd February at 8pm in the staffroom.

2005:
Joint Chair: Janet Lennox/Louise Saker
Treasurer:  Jenny Williams
Secretary: Janice Rees

The next Newsletter will contain details of the 2006 Committee, the planned events for 2006 and details of monies raised in 2005 and planned purchases for the school.
