At Hornsea School we are committed to providing the highest possible standard of education for all students of all abilities. We are actively working to broaden horizons and promote a caring and challenging learning culture to foster a genuine love for learning.

We have a very talented team of staff who, at all times, constantly strive to ensure that children realise their full potential. We value parental involvement and encourage you to contact us at any time to discuss any concerns or to celebrate success.

Our school is much more than that which goes on in classrooms and we hope that over your child’s time with us we will succeed in encouraging participation in a range of new and exciting opportunities.

We will strive to enable your child to achieve success and in so doing prepare for future educational and occupational opportunities in a rapidly expanding global environment.

We believe that everyone who attends our school can and should achieve success and that, by promoting a culture where all associated with the school can learn and develop as individuals, we will all be proud to be associated with it.

We look forward to welcoming you to Hornsea School and promise you a commitment to work with you in partnership to guarantee your child’s success.

SIXTH FORM

The prospectus aims to inform you about the choices, opportunities and decisions you face both now and over the next few years. It’s an exciting time. Hopefully we can guide you through what we offer and pass on to you the special atmosphere that makes Hornsea Sixth Form such a great place to study. We're really proud of the amount of choice that we offer - it's better now than it ever has been, with over 30 'A' level subjects and BTEC qualifications in Sport and Health and Social Care. Our strong academic success is combined with an environment that is both friendly and supportive. We will work to ensure your welfare and your success through a partnership of staff, students and parents. You’ll find that staff will see you, and treat you, as fellow adults.

If you choose to join us we ask you to commit to our high aspirations and expectations, but in return you will become a valued part of a tightly knit student community where we will do everything possible to enable you to succeed. We now have a new, purpose-built Sixth Form Centre and you will be among the first ones to benefit from new classrooms, I.C.T facilities and study spaces and Common Room. Think hard about the choices you make, come and ask us if you’re unsure; we really do want to help you to make the right decision for you.

A Message From the Students

The Sixth Form Committee is a group of students who represent the Sixth Form and take a leading part in organising its social side. Here at Hornsea we believe that there is a strong sense of community which allows everybody to participate together in many activities, fundraisers and social gatherings like the Sixth Form Ball.

The aim of all staff, especially your tutor, is to help you in fulfilling your personal targets and getting the qualifications necessary to put you on the path to success. The Sixth Form is a stepping stone to your future, in a comfortable, friendly environment.

The Sixth Form Committee are proud to represent a wide range of sociable, friendly and talented young people. We all work together as a team, and manage to organise events such as theme days, charity events and, of course, the Sixth Form Ball.

The whole school’s aim is to breed success as well as mature, informed young adults. The last two Sixth Form years simply finish the job off, producing well rounded, hardworking adults who are ready to move into their chosen future with good qualifications and the confidence that goes with it.
