Primary School

Welcome to the official website of South Morningside Primary School, Edinburgh. . The school is non-denominational and teaches over 600 boys and girls from Nursery to Primary Seven. It opened in September 1892 and under went extensive alteration and modernisation in 1976. The school is continually upgraded to provide a high standard of accommodation. During session 1999-2000 particular attention was paid to upgrading the school playground. There are four levels in the building - basement, ground, middle and first floors. Behind the school there are two transportable units each containing two classrooms. Two classes are based in an annexe in Cluny Church Centre nearby. The nursery has moved this session to Fairmilehead Parish Church. The school is used after school hours by many community based organisations, the After-School Care Club and the Parent Teacher Association. The type of use varies from year to year but typical examples are Yoga, Recorder Tuition and Gymnastic Clubs.
