I warmly welcome you to Trinity Academy. In recent years, the school has undergone a major refurbishment and extension programme. I feel this is a particularly exciting time in the long history of our famous school. I believe our school is now very well equipped to serve the pupils of the area well into the 21st century.
In addition to excellent accommodation and resources the school boasts an extensive computer network and offers a comprehensive programme of extra curricular activities especially in music and sport.
The school is outward looking having established excellent links with the community and local business. In the Senior School pupils are given a unique opportunity to participate in European Work Experience, now in its15th year and the envy of many schools. Recognition was given nationally for our work in this area when in we were awarded the British Council International School Award. Trinity Academy is the only Scottish Secondary School to have been given this highly prestigious award.
Another exciting European initiative is the Pan European Education Project. This allows senior pupils to meet students from the Ukraine, Poland, Denmark, Holland and Greece annually. This year's conference took place in Svendborg, Denmark.
The school has recently undergone an inspection conducted by Her Majesty's Inspectors. Their findings were very positive and a number of key strengths were identified:
the school's promotion of pupils' broader achievements;
the care and commitment to the well-being of all pupils, particularly by pupil support and guidance staff;
the school's many productive local, national and global partnerships and their positive impact on the wider education of all pupils.
Finally and especially relevant to you as prospective parents:
parents felt that their children enjoyed being at school and found the work stimulating and challenging.
We have a dedicated, conscientious and very professional staff and a happy school ethos.
